Prairie Street Brew House Mixed Use Development, Rockford, IL

Project Scope:

The project consists of renovating the existing Brew House building  to house retail, office, restaurant, residential, and community space.  Construction of the project has already started on a very limited basis and is slated to continue in earnest with the start of the new year.  A new single pipe geothermal heat pump HVAC system will be installed to provide primary heating and cooling for the facility with additional systems as required to serve the restaurant areas.  New plumbing systems are to be installed to serve the remodeled areas.  The existing sprinkler system is to be modified and expanded to meet the requirements of the renovated building.  The existing electrical service will be replaced with a new electrical service to accommodate the power demands of the re-purposed areas.  Lighting design will be provided to meet requirements of each new area.  Our services will also included design and construction administration of all the MEP and fire sprinkler systems.

City of Cedar Rapids – Five Seasons Parkade Lighting Retrofit

The City selected Innovative Engineers Inc. to produce construction documents to retrofit the Five Seasons Prakade

Lighting replacing the existing High Pressure Sodium (HPS) fixtures with LED fixtures. We provided photometric calculations and designed the new lighting using LED fixtures which exhibit maximum performance, long life and reliability. The attractive, durable fixtures consume only 75 watts which is 40% to 50% less the high pressure sodium (HPS) lighting fixtures they replace.

University of Iowa – Study for Backup Boilers for Campus 

A comprehensive study was conducted to identify work necessary to prepare three sites for locating backup boilers for the Main Power Plant in the event of an emergency.The study evaluated and identified requirements for each site’s tie points. The study evaluated makeup water, steam, boiler feed water, condensate return, compressed air, softener drain, feed water drain, electrical power, and Ethernet.

Mike Finnin Ford Dealership, Dubuque, IA

Mechanical and Electrical systems design for a 30,000 square foot expansion and renovation to the existing Ford dealership. Currently under construction.

Iowa City Community School District Offices Relocation

Construction administration for the current relocation of the Iowa City Community School District’s main offices to a new location. Design-build consultation and equipment review for design-build process. Currently under construction.

Solon School District – HVAC Renovation

Mechanical engineering scope included site-work and verification of existing construction, required cooling load calculations for both areas, sizing of new equipment for associated areas, sizing and routing of associated ductwork, evaluating feasible options, plans and specifications required to complete construction. Electrical scope included sizing and routing of electrical feeds to HVAC equipment and sizing of breaker and distribution equipment in existing switchgear.

Genesis Hospitals  – – Medical Gas Evaluation

This project consisted of a review of a survey report generated by Medical Gas Management firm. Our services included review of deficiencies, survey of equipment and installation conditions to validate deficiencies and evaluate potential resolutions, and identification of resolutions with recommendations.

Genesis Hospitals  –  AHU’s VFD Bypass Evaluation

Innovative engineers was selected to evaluate the operation of several critical air handling units at a Medical Center, we managed to prepare a study to find the cause and resolve the issue of units not functioning properly with the variable frequency drives (VFD) in bypass mode.

RICE – NESHAP Evaluation

A study was performed by Innovative Engineers Inc. to Evaluate compliance of diesel generator systems with new Department of Natural Resources (DNR) rule addressing RICE-NESHAP concerning cutting air pollutants form generator engines.
